Just a little visit

So, can you even believe I am paying our little "blog" a visit? I figure it's about time. I definitely don't have the time for a full on recap of the last 6 months so I will keep it short and sweet.

Connor is almost 2! I can't believe how big and crazy this little man is. We just can't get enough of him. He is never short of some entertainment. He loves his cousins and would do anything to get outside and RUN like a wild maniac. He loves trains, or "choo choo's", LOVES elephants, and Is talking a ton.

Such a goof ball!

Can you believe how big he is? And can you tell how busy he keeps us?

I recently got a promotion at work and it is keeping me BUSY. I am enjoying the new position but it is definitely a learning experience. I feel so grateful for the opportunities I have been given and hope they don't cease anytime soon! We are so lucky to have Connors grandma Karen to take care of him twice a week while I am in the office. He loves going there and we know he is with somebody who loves him (and most likely watches him better than I do) while I am away.

Jon is still in school and working hard. I wish we could wave a magic wand and have it all be done and have his future career waiting patiently. I guess that's not realistic... But a girl can dream!

Halloween is next week, and there will most definitely be great pictures to come. Can't wait to take Connor out for a night on the town (coul-de-sac).

Memorial day weekend

In our house we love extra long weekends! We always come up with a whole list of things we want to accomplish and places we want to go. By the end of the first day we quickly realize we were a bit overzealous. So we scale back (a bit) and in the end we just wind up spending most of our time just relaxing. Well, by Saturday night, I started wishing we had gone on at least on adventure. - this feeling was also partially prompted by my sister in law texting me saturday night with the proposal that we go up north and leave the boys. By the time we has gone to sleep, all hope of an adventure had subsided. I woke up to my husband proposing we pack up some things and head north.

Really?! For the night? Like leave now? OK!

We had jumped head first into adventure-ville! Yes, that's a real place.

We quickly threw things together and we were off; headed to Heber to stay at my cousins cabin. The drive was nice. I love watching the temperature gauge slowly drop the closer we get. Connor slept most of the way, and when we got there the wind was CRAZY! Connor was running around like a maniac getting into all of the new treasures and Jon was trying to turn on the water. After about an hour, a little conversation took place between the two of us; it resulted in the three of us getting back in the car and heading back home.

Of course we could not end our adventure there. So, we stopped at Christopher creek and had some lunch while Connor ran out all of his crazies. The weather was perfect and I loved watching Connor discover a whole new world.

Connor seriously thought it was Christmas when he got his first look at the creek!

He couldn't wait to get in the water.
And he found a sweet stick to play with!

He is turning into such a big boy!

The trip was a lot of fun regardless of the change in plans. I wouldn't have changed it for anything!

Happy 1st Birthday Sweet Love!

I cannot believe my baby is already 1. This first year has flown by. He has filled our home with so many laughs and great memories. He is such a smart boy and is so FULL of energy. I miss my sweet new born but I love the crazy boy he is turning into.

We had a great party at a park in our neighborhood. Connor loves to play outside and even though he had an ear infection, enjoyed ALMOST every second of the day.

Connor got this sweet ride for his Birthday from his Mom and Dad. He loves to climb in and out of this thing!

IMG_0444

Have I mentioned how smart he is? Here he is answering the questions, “Connor, how old are you?” LOVE HIM!

IMG_0450

Of course, response has been conditioned to be followed by immediate clapping and celebration!

Present time!

We knew Connor would do well at opening present’s because he has always LOVED to rip and destroy paper (See Previous post).

And then he got tired of Mom and Dad taking the toys he just worked so hard to open!

Bad picture warning! But, too good to not put it in!

IMG_0540

Hmmm… What could possibly cheer up a 1 year old after being robbed of new toys? CUPCAKE!

Yes, he loved it.

So, 1 year ago, that sweet face was born and I could not have asked for a greater blessing! I hope he always knows and feels how much we truly love and adore him!

A few fun facts about this BIG BOY!

-Connor LOVES to be outside. He loves to carry rocks around with him while he explores.

-He says, DaDa, Bye, BaBa, Ball, More, Cheese, Cracker, Cat, Bird, outside, Night night, NaNa (Grandma) and our personal favorite (while shaking his finger) Na Na No!

- He signs, More, eat, thank you, ball.

- He can climb out of and on pretty much anything.

- He loves to open and close everything.

- He loves to drink out of water bottles.

- If Dad takes the lock off of the entertainment center, Connor instantly stops whatever he is doing to SPRINT over to check it all out.

- He has inherited the love for all things electronic disease. OBSESSED!

- He will find a button on anything if it exists.

- He loves taking baths and splashes around like a maniac.

- He LOVES ducks- rubber, cartoon, real- you name they type, he loves it. He even quacks.

- Favorite foods- Crackers, Cheese, Applesauce, Avocado.

I think I better stop now because I most definitely could go on forever!

Connor, thank you so much for brightening every day a little more. You are truly a special spirit and I Love you more than I could ever imagine possible! I cherish every small second I have with you and I can’t wait to see you grow. (But, if at all possible, could you please just stay small for a bit longer. Like, forever?)

Warning- Longest post EVER ahead!

I know, I know, I am TERRIBLE at this blog thing! So much has happened since the last post and just so I don’t bore you to death, I will keep the words short and the pictures long!

First, I need to share with you what a busy boy we have on our hands! He is always up to something!

Trust me when I say, these are only a few of many pictures of this boy at his finest! I LOVE watching him play; he always has some sort of plan and you can see it in his face. He’s a thinker and a mover!

Labor Day Vacation

For Labor Day we were able to take a nice needed vacation to my Dad’s house in New Mexico. Connor had such a fun time playing with Grandpa Steve and Grandma D’Ann. Of course Jon and I enjoyed the visit too! It was nice to escape to nicer weather and just enjoy family time.

We spent a day shopping in town followed by a little splashing in the creek.

Step 2. Splash away and investigate.

Sorry Connor, Mom says, “Don’t eat rocks!”

And of course that happens to be hilarious. If you don’t already know, this boy LOVES water. He loves to drink it, and play in it. The water was so chilly and it did not prevent this guy from jumping right in.

The next day we took a trip to White Sands, Alamagordo to visit more family.

It was the perfect time of day and the sunset was beautiful.

All in all, a very successful trip!

Children’s Museum

Connor and I took a fun trip to the Children’s museum in Mesa with My sister in-law Kristen and Connor’s cousins, Kate and Olivia.

The Children’s museum was so fun and it was nice to be able to let him get down and explore.

Connor and Kate diving into fun!

Connor Loved this toy. For awhile he forgot about all the other amazing things he could get in to.

Mom, is this ok?

Craft Table. Kate and Connor just wanted to eat the glue sticks. But still, entertaining.

Olivia had so much fun making a spider with Mommy!

DSC01282

SNACK TIME! Connor thought it would be a great idea to dump all the snacks out in a giant pile on the table. And he stands by that decision.

Halloween

So, we didn’t get too many pictures (I know, bad Mom) But we were too busy having fun and chasing him everywhere.

We fell upon the costume decision based on his strange love for light sabers!

So, he was DARTH VADER

DSC01316

It was pretty much impossible to catch him with the hat on.

DSC01317

He sure did love his sucker though!

Oh yah, and then there was this…

Jon works in a classroom with kid’s with special needs and they happen to love the wiggles. He is such a good sport!

And of course we had some fun with the wig. Sorry Connor, Mommy and Daddy Love you!

DSC01312

Sorry for stealing what most likely felt like a lifetime from you! But, how was I supposed to leave any of that out?

And so, I will leave you with this. A big thank you for stopping by from the boy we love so much-
